Charles "Charlie" Travis Jr.

December 25, 1928 - July 19, 2018

Charles “Charlie” Travis Jr. age 89, of East Liverpool passed away Thursday, July 19th 2018 at Calcutta Healthcare Center while attempting to recover from injuries received in a brutal home invasion.
The son of the late Charles and Virginia Travis. He was born in Freeport, Ohio on December 25, 1928.
Mr. Travis was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force serving as an aircraft crash rescueman. He had retired in 1982 from the former Crucible Steel where he worked as a craneman. He loved fishing and walking the trails at Beaver Creek.
Mr. Travis was preceded in death on June 15th 2011 by his wife, Beverly Travis and on March 31, 2012 by his son and fishing buddy, Steven Travis.
He is survived and will be sadly missed by his son, Paul (Candy) Travis; Daughters Robin (Charles) Myers, and Luann (Mark) Hanlon. Nine Grandchildren, Tammy McCoy, Tracy Travis, Matthew Travis, Karen Travis, Regina Padrick, Erin Sarge, Charles Myers, Sara Kelly, and Briana Hanlon with whom he held a special bond. There are 13 great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and and the nursing assistants at the Calcutta Healthcare for the love and care that Charles received from them.
At Charles request, there will be no services planned.
The Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home has has been entrusted with his care.
