I've known Chuck for over 40 years. I don't recall ever meeting a more pleasant and caring person in my lifetime. We first met while he was with The Herald-Star. Later, we did business while he was with the Jefferson County Job and Family Services. Most importantly, we were members of the Steubenville Rotary Club. Regardless of the situation, he brought a professional yet extremely cordial attitude toward any occasion. Our Rotary club and I will miss him very much. He is a big part of our/my history and will not be forgotten.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to you and your family for your loss. Our fondest memories of Chuck are from our times our families spent worshipping & fellowshiping together at the Wintersville Church of the Nazarene. We are confident as the Scriptures say that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. May Almighty God send His Comforter to be with you as you grieve. Amen

Sending deepest sympathy and prayers for strength for the whole family during this sad time. I first knew Mr. Govey as the General Manager and Publisher of the Herald Star. He and Mr. Smith made a good pair and complimented each other in their daily work. Over the years, Chuck became a friend in business as well as personally. One of my greatest memories was how (for Father's Day) he assisted me with getting an autographed photo of Notre Dames' Coach Lou Holtz, for my "His Number One Fan" for Dad, Andrew J. Blaner - a momento Dad treasured. Always a gentleman, a dedicated community activist, his board memberships were numerous, at heart he was a family man and the community at large his extended family. He will be missed. God bless you and Eternal Memory for him.
